All of the plants we call 'Bootlace' or 'Corkscrew' here in Australia are now Huperzia tetrastichoides, if you have a look closely

it has four sided shoots. We have used Huperzia prolifera incorrectly for many years and it appears on our labels as Huperzia prolifera. Huperzia prolifera is a beautiful similar species from Asia. Sutthisak has it on his webpage as 'Indonesian sp.'.
For a growing medium I use tree bark nuggets, (pine, cork, raintree) and soemtimes charcoal or fern roots. I sieve the pieces so that they are between the size of a thumbnail and little fingernail. I fertilize with one of the following- seawead solution, fish emulsion, nutricote, magamp, calcium nitrate or GF9 and I only use dilute fertilizer and apply ever two to four weeks.
