Yes...it was a new shield growing out that I hoped would cover the hole left by the broken old shield! Now have to wait for another 2 shields to grow - a long, long time

I try not to use pesticides if I can because I have other pets around the house. Not too many of them so I use manual extermination, and nature's way - feed them to my pitcher plants so they get recycled back to the plants!
