Platycerium madagascariense problems and success stories

This is the second time a bug ate the bud of the specimen P. madagascariense.  I don't now if it has 9 lives or not but it is still alive.  You can see from the photo the gaping howl in the side of the bud.  I was reminded from a good friend that in the wild if you where to collect this species you find the same thing.  Let see how long it will live.  It was a spore grown plant and seams to be vary strong.

May your P.mada be a cat. 4-_  This plant is very nice one. how old is this plant?

From spore to this age something like 3 years.
